Heirloom Quality Fine Furniture

Fine Woodworking of South Carolina is a family-owned business established in 2013 to design and build custom, one-of-a-kind, fine furniture and woodwork. We are fourth-generation furniture makers, and we use premium hardwoods, and time-tested construction methods to ensure our furniture lasts for generations. We are extremely passionate about custom furniture and the Art of Fine Woodworking, and we infuse our passion and craftsmanship into every piece we create. Each carefully chosen piece of wood, with its organic grain, meticulously crafted joinery, and flawlessly finished surfaces, represents a small part of the dedication to our craft and the Art of Fine Woodworking.

By hand signing our custom-made furniture, we are stating our approval of each piece, and upholding our promise to build the best furniture possible, by our weathered hands, endless hours, and unlimited attention to detail, to produce heirloom quality fine furniture for your family to enjoy for a lifetime. Our furniture is functional, artistically designed, and traditionally crafted from our hands, for your home.

Steven Gaskins, the owner of Fine Woodworking of South Carolina, is a fine woodworker who loves creating heirloom quality fine furniture. Steven’s passion for fine woodworking is a deep-rooted passion; a passion that embraces his innermost being. A passion which captivated him at a young age, and is evermore present today. However, Steven’s passion doesn’t end with creating beautiful things from wood; he is also passionate about teaching the Art of Fine Woodworking and offers online instructional courses on this site. Steven states “Many great woodworkers have inspired my work throughout the years, but I am most attuned to the work of Sam Maloof. Sam’s demeanor and soft-spoken words regarding being a woodworker resonate with me”.

When Steven is not building furniture, he can be found with his wife and grandchildren, camping in the enchanting mountains of Western North Carolina and Tennessee.

“Woodworker, I like that word; it’s an honest word, and that’s what I am - a woodworker”

- Sam Maloof
